Or maybe the question should be, if OKC signs Horford, does that solidify Durant's stay at OKC?

I don't know if they are for sure a pair. Danny said that he wanted Horford whether or not Durant would come to Boston. I think Boston's the only team that can afford 2 max deals right now. Although OKC might since they can go over the cap to sign Durant.
I know that Horford asked Isaiah about playing in Boston over the All Star weekend. So he's definitely interested in Boston and I don't think he's basing his choice on where Durant goes.

Horford met with Celtics, Rockets, Wizards and one other team that they didn't name today. He is going to make his decision over the weekend.
Hawks signed both Kent Bazemore and Howard to big contracts. But they are said to be exploring trades to try to afford Horford too. I would think the Howard signing would make Atlanta a bit less desirable. Danny reportedly offered him the max so now we sit and wait.
Saturday is my birthday and I sure would like Al Horford for a birthday present!!

Thanks jmost! Reports are that the meeting went very well. Also the Hawks did make Horford an offer but they'll need to trade some players for virtually nothing to make room for him. Only the Hawks could offer him a 5th year on the contract. Celtics could offer 4 year max. And here we sit and wait.
I'd love to get Milsap if they are trading him but I see them giving up Horford before they give up Milsap. They are keeping him whether they keep Horford or not. I can see though having Howard in Atlanta would mean a diminished roll for Horford and maybe that would factor in his decision.

Just read a report that the Suns and Hawks were talking Milsap trade. So, maybe they would trade Milsap.

Just read that Horford is deciding between the Celtics and the Wizards according to Woj. Thunder and Hawks would have to make trades to make room for him. Reports are that he would get a 4 year $113 million contract. He is expected to make his decision later tonight. Of course those are all just "reports" from various sources so may or may not be what is actually happening. I'm still hoping to get Horford for my birthday!

Tom Brady is in the Hamptons too, trying to entice Durant to come to Boston.
I bet Papi would have come if the Sox weren't playing today.
Did you guys read that Durant's favorite player growing up was Larry Bird?
Boston is probably a destination he's really open to coming to.
