It's decision time for Zeller and Sullinger, who are restrictred free agents.
Zeller really dropped off the radar this year, while being heavily used the year before.
Sullinger has done a good job of rebounding, providing some buckets, and I even give him credit for his defense against stationary big men (like Dwight Howard).
We really have a lack of 7 footers on the team, but is that enough warrant to keep Zeller, who is a soft player, a poor rebounder and defender, whose beneficial traits are being mobile and scoring from mid range?
Sullinger is a bit harder to gauge because he's a good rebounder and has more effect on the defensive end. He shows some range on his jumper, but we've given up on the 3 point experiment (for now I guess, until he shows marked improvement in his accuracy).
For Sully, I think its more about cost vs. how much more he'll provide than Jordan Mickey (who I think is ready for playing time this season, and probably a starting spot next year).

Unless Danny believes he needs the cap space to sign two max free agents, Sullinger will probably get the qualifying offer in order to make him a restricted free agent. Then, if he's offered a big deal elsewhere, the C's might be able to swing a sign and trade. I just don't see them giving him a big, longterm deal. Not with Zizic, Yabusele, Mickey and future high draft picks coming along.
Zeller would probably be cheaper to sign longterm, but he may also just get the qualifying offer. I would't mind seeing him back at that price, especially if Sullinger is moved.
I wouldn't be surprised if both are kept or neither, but I don't believe either will get a longterm deal, unless it's part of a sign and trade.

I'd say sully's gone. if we don't get durant i could see zeller being brought on a one year, make good deal, or maybe a 1+1 deal like amir johnson got.

Sully is listed as the 8th best free agent in an ESPN article I saw. He does have value. I see Danny giving him a qualifying offer and maybe signing him to a very reasonable contract if he's willing but I don't see them matching any high offers from other teams.
I do think Zeller will be gone. They didn't use him much at all last season and if they sign a FA center his minutes would be even fewer.

The Celtics have made qualifying offers to both Sully and Zeller and so both are restricted free agents. Whether they keep them or not will depend on what kind of offers they get from other teams. I have a feeling that the Celtics won't match any high offers for either of them.

I'd make zeller back on the cheap on a one year make good deal. Some team is gonna overpay for Sully. I don't want it to be the Celtics.

If a team makes a big offer to either of them I don't see Danny matching. Even if he doesn't get any free agents, I think he will give one of the draft picks a chance. Yabusele looks like a replacement as does Bentil.
