If we lose out on the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, I hope we go after Bismack Biyombo and give him something in the neighborhood of a 4 year/70 million deal. I'd also like to see it frontloaded so we can keep some cap flexibility for future years. Bismack is already one of the best rebounders in the league, and he can patrol the paint while also being a very good PnR defender. He's already one of the top 10 defensive bigs in the league. and his offense improves every year. his FT% last year was 63%. While this is no great shakes, it is light years ahead of where he was a couple years ago. and he know has a midrange jumper, so teams can't ignore him on offense. And everything you read about him is that he busts his butt working on his game, so he should continue to get better. Plus, the dude is only 23. Hell, i'd throw Toronto a 2nd rounder or two if they'd do a sign n trade with us so we could wrap him up for a 5 year deal. I'd much rather give Bismack a contract like that than pay someone like whiteside the max.

He's going to get paid this summer. I think we can get pretty good value staying in house by using Jordan Mickey in the same role we'd use Biyombo.
Biyombo is a notch better athlete, a notch more explosive -- but Mickey is shaping up to be a solid shot blocker in his own right (I'd say his blocked shots are cleaner). And better still, Mickey already shows better potential as a scorer.
And he's tons cheaper.

I'm with you, Derren. Mickey is very intriguing and I'm hoping he gets a chance to show what he can do with the Celtics this season. I do like Biyombo also and if they are looking to sign a center in free agency, I like him above Howard and Whiteside.
