We might have to brace ourselves for the possibility of life without Avery Bradley.
If any of these floating trade rumors have any legs, it sounds like a combination of the 3rd pick + AB and other players might be the package we sign off on.
If true, I think AB became expendable when Terry Rozier started receiving playing time towards the end of the regular season and in the playoff series against ATL. Rozier is not the same caliber defensively as AB, but he's pretty good. He also offers a more complete game, with his ability to handle the ball, attack the basket, and rebound (which he does exceptionally well for his size and position).
Maybe that's why Ainge is comfortable with moving a key player like Bradley.

AB was a very big part of what the team accomplished this season and when he went out in the playoffs the Celtics seemed lost without him. He was definitely the anchor of the defense. But like you said, Rozier could step in and with a whole year under his belt fill in the gap if they do trade AB. I can see why other teams would want him.
The one player I think is the most undtradeable is Jae Crowder. He's so versatile and it's always important to have a player of his defensive caliber to guard the LeBrons and other star wings.

I agree with Jackie Mac that no one on this team is untradable. Crowder is a nice player, and has been a nice surprise, but he's a role player, not a star, and should be available if the right deal is offered. We're too far away to get attached to anyone on the current roster, including their one all-star, IT.

All players are available at the right price, but its important to keep as much of our defensive unit intact as possible.
Crowder is blossoming into a two way player who can guard both forward positions. I think unless we get a no brainer offer, we should hold onto him.

Virtually the same thing can be said about AB. Good two-way player who can guard two positions, in his case, PG and SG. The thing I like most about AB is that he gets better every year. Reminds me of McHale in that way. Sadly it's the exception rather than the rule among NBA players.

But unlike Crowder, we may (I stress may) have a replacement for AB (Terry Rozier). Unless you count Jerebko (or Marcus Smart, who is only 6'4"), we don't have a player who can defend the 2, 3, and 4.

Very true Derren. Personally I think Crowder may be one of the most valuable Celtics especially given the fact that he is still improving and also has a very favorable contract.

I don't see trading IT for 2 reasons: (1) I think the rest of the league, because of his size, still sees him as a "niche" player who is doing well because of the circumstances he is is - in other words, he can succeed in the right system and roster, but like Love may be ineffective elsewhere. (2) If we move him and get one scorer in return, we are back to square one - in search of a second option on offense.

I am one of those that will only be on board to trade AB if it leads to a difference maker or a player that ends up helping us get that difference maker that we are sorely lacking. He's too important right now to who we are, he along with Crowder are our identity. As for IT, I think for us to be a true contender, we need to have enough talent in the starting lineup to make him the 6th man again.
