His offensive numbers are awful. I don't think you can get much better of a defensive true pg besides TJ Ford maybe but he has to up his offense. If West only averaged 15ppg + his current defensive numbers and rebounding, hed be better than Bibby is now.

never understood the hype anyway. i agree with those who say he's a good guy to have on a team but he's no starter in nba

He's actually a good fit on the team, especially with our starting 5. But when we aren't playing good, he sticks out like a sore thumb because he's not a playmaker and he can't create his own shots. But when we are playing good basketball as a team, he's in the middle of it all.
In our very first game of the season, Delonte had a phenomenal game and he excited a lot of folks. But like I said after the game, fans need to realize that he won't always put up numbers like that. He'll be incredible in some games, and invisible in others. He's not an impact PG, but a "system" PG, and when we aren't playing in the system, he gets lost.

I wish Delonte was more selfish. Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd see, but I sorta see what some of you mean. I always felt like selfishness was an issue for this team not passing and trying to do it alone and whatnot.

I wish we had chauncey Billups or Tony Parker instead of West but I'm gonna have to live with this medicore play from guys who should be career back-ups.

West was a 24th pick as well. You can't expect a sh!tload out of him. There may always be holes in his game. West is just starting because this team has no better pg unless you want to start Danny D. I feel when the team goes smaller, West would be good as a sg seeing he can't create for others. In a small running lineup with 2 2's this works:
Raef Jefferson Davis West Banks
I don't list Pierce because hes not very quick unless hes the 4 in this lineup.

I get tired of hearing "you can't expect anything out of this guy cause he was a low pick". Tony Parker was picked lower than him. Then by your logic Tony Parker should never outplay him.

I do agree with MEltin that West needs to be more assertive on offense.

I do agree with MEltin that West needs to be more assertive on offense. This is kind of a given. Maybe Greene needs to be given more minutes, as the season moves on. Have DW play more 2 guard.

Tony Parker also had Duncan. Arenas went to a GS team with a good core but managed to have other gifts as well as he is using now.
