Forget if it was Bob Cousy or Mike Gorman who said it, but in tonight's game vs. the Sonics, he mentioned when Orien checked into the game that Ainge speaks highly of this kid.
Doc needs to develop this kid by letting him play. He needs to just go out there and create for others. That's what he likes to do and that's what he is good at.
He's being used wrong right now. Instead of weaving and knifing through defenses with his penetrations or using pick and rolls, Orien is giving the ball up to Ricky, who then acts like the PG while Orien stands around the arc. Why would Doc allow this? Orien needs to be active with the ball at all times when he's on the floor. He's the best playmaker we have on the team.

I hope OG and AJ are a bigger part of the rotation by the 20-25 game mark. These guys need playing time, even if it costs us a game or two.

DA is high on every player he ever drafted, signed, traded for, or seen. Doc too.

Yea eja. Danny also lies a lot. Hes probably trying to move Orien and trying to showcase him for what he can until Banks comes back. Orien will be another Brandon Hunter. here 1 yr, gone the next. What is so good about Orien? I see nothing. Banks I'd much rather keep.

I want you all to remember these words coming out of Meltin's mouth and remind him later, when Orien starts showing off his goods ;D
Honestly, as much as some of us are overly optimistic about our players (myself very much included), you are overly negative, or pessimistic about them. I mean, thinking that Jefferson's ceiling is only 19 and 8 and Orien is not going to be better than Dan Dickau?!!! Sheesh. C'mon Meltin, open up your mind and your eyes and let some sunshine in, bro ;D

Derren this is why I doubt a lot of the guys on the Celts. Cause guys like MJ, Lebron, Bird, and Magic didn't have sophmore slumps. They didn't get 6ppg their rookie years. They didn't ever get dominated. The only reason we even give these guys a shot is cause Jermaine O Neal and Tracy McGrady took 4 years to develop, but they weren't behind guys like Mark Blount and Justin Reed. They were behind guys like Vince Carter and Arvydas and Rasheed. I see them develop but I'm not sure I even see all star type stuff out f them. I mean the team is struggling and they aren't even dressing Gerald Green. If his rrokie year isn't even as good as say JR Smith's last year, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to stay excited about him. If you can't stay healthy and beat out Dan Dickau then how good can you be? You can't beat out Blount or a one kneed Raef?

Chances of having a role player after the top 5 is very likely or competition in this league would be more even. I like some of the young kids but I wouldn't label them as premeir future starter s on this besides Al Jefferson and maybe Gerald Green if he lives up to his potential. Other than that I think everyone else are very good players to come off the bench but nothing more. BTW, coaches make the decision who plays and doesn't play. Sometimes they're too timid to play a young kid because its their job on the line. Doesn't even matter if one guy is more talented than the other. It's up to doc to start Al and it wouldn't surprise me at all that he doesn't get a start this season unless blount or Lafrentz goes down with an injury just because he feels Al hasn't paid his dues to be able to start in this league.

I will never eat my words about Orien Greene Derren. Just stop it now. He can't even beat out Dan Dickau. And when Banks come sback, he'll be pg #4. Plus, hes a 53rd pick. Being pessimistic never hurts. Its better than being optimistic. And JHVO8 or Eja had a good point. Jermaine backed up Wallace and Sabonis. McGrady backed up VC. Zach Randolph backed up Rasheed. KG backed up all star versions of Gugliotta and Laettner. Not Blount and Raef. Now Gerald Green is backing up Ricky and PP. For that, he could be better just like the other examples shown. GG backing up P2 = McGrady in 98 backing up VC. And yes, most of these stars were lottery picks. Expect many duds when a gm drafts in the 15 and 18's, 20s or 40s or 50s. Some make it, some dont. Not all will on our team. Jefferson I have hope for but I do not set it very high like 23 and 12. Thats just mad insane to expect.

Eja, you have to remind yourself that those guys you mentioned are hall of famers, and Lebron certainly is heading down that path as well. As high as I am on Big Al, chances are against him that he will be a future hall of famer. Also, aside from Lebron, each of those guys you mentioned went to college and had more time to develop their games.

Docs rotations are flat out ridiculous. The rate its going, Jefferson won't even be in double digits for an average. Danny may need to trade Doc Rivers.
