Enoughof Doc rivers and Brown. Enough of West at the point. Enough of Blount taking Al's minutes. get rid of Rivers, Brown. Trade West, Blount, Dickau, and, if possible, Scalabrine for a PG and a C. Trade Raef next year, if possible. Hire a good coach, anyone wh can preach defense. !!!GREENIAC!!! up-tempo. We aint winning unless we D up and neither the Spurs nor the Pistons are uptempo.

You are getting carried away Sprash. Though I do agree that Doc is making very questionable substitutions (or lack thereof), we should not be so quick to call for his head. For one thing, this team has made drastic improvements in overall team play and I strongly feel that it is directly due to Rivers' personality.
But yes, he has me shaking my head during the games. In tonight's game, he stayed with the starters too long, even though they played a lot of minutes last night. And when he finally did bring in the bench players (both in the 1st half and 2nd half), he pulled them out too early when they were actually starting to ignite the team. Orien and Scala were starting to get into their rhythm and the energy and hustle they were showing began to pump up the team. But then he yanks them and goes back with the slow footed and tired first unit.
And I don't understand why he's not letting Big Al play a lot of minutes. Compared to Blount who can't rebound or grab a rebound without fumbling it, Jefferson was making an impact on the boards. And its clear that Jefferson can create scoring opportunities in the post, yet he doesn't call plays for him, instead making Jefferson just a prop/decoration out there.
Here's what I'd do if I'm coach, and you can quote me on this and see if I know what I'm talking about.
Keep the starting unit as is because when they are playing their roles, no team can contain them because each and every starting player can score. But as soon as they start slowing down, put in Orien, Jefferson, Scalabrine, and Gomes in the game. And its important to let Orien set up players instead of just passing the ball up to the high post. He needs to be able to create and penetrate because he's good at setting up players, as well as putting up his own shots off of penetrations. Use him by making Jefferson and Scala pick for him because this opens up lanes for him to attack, or it gives Jefferson and Scala scoring opportunities. Also, its important to get the ball into Jefferson in the low blocks. The reason I'd put Gomes in there along with Jefferson is because they work well together under the basket. Gomes is good at putting back missed shots, and with Jefferson, if he misses, its usually the ones that rim out and Gomes can easily get his hands on these for quick putbacks.
Doc is not doing a bad job. He's just not using players correctly or giving players enough time to produce.

I hate to quote Toby Keith* but 'Eaaaasy now.' Just one game. We are a painfully young team. We aren't going to win a lot of games this year, regardless of who is coaching us. But if our record starts getting truly awful, we gots to find a way to trade Blount. If we are gonna suck with him, we may as well suck with Perk and Al getting more minutes.
Am I the only one who never gets like this after my teams lose? With the Twins, I understand that they'll never truly compete b/c of baseball's lack of a salary cap, WIth the C's, I understand that they are rebuilding, and, unlike a lot of C's fans, I don't overrate our team. The Vikings used to drive me up the fudging wall, now I realize that they are just a tool God uses to punish upper midwesterners. What did we do to deserve this?
*Who am I kidding? I love quoting Toby Keith.

Being up-tempo is NOT the problem. Detroit blew us away in the second half by ringing up 67 points, including 38 in the fourth. And the Spurs do run when the opportunity is there. It's not like Parker and Ginobili walk the ball up the floor 48 minutes a game. And Phoenix had a decent run last year.
Regardless of the style of offense, you need to be able to make stops on defense, and we have struggled the last few games in that department. IMO it would help if we had stronger defenders in the paint, which is why I wish Al and Perkins would get more PT. But a team with our athleticism SHOULD look to run and get as many easy baskets as possible.

Riiight... I'm sure trading West, Blount, Dickau, and scala would get you a better PG or C. But, I do agree Brown has to go though! Doc still needsd a full year to prove himself and even then I think he's only here temporary to develop our young players.

Doc still needsd a full year to prove himself and even then I think he's only here temporary to develop our young players. Yea me too. Then hes gone for Atlanta after his stay in Boston. We are a painfully young team. We aren't going to win a lot of games this year, regardless of who is coaching us. But if our record starts getting truly awful, we gots to find a way to trade Blount. If we are gonna suck with him, we may as well suck with Perk and Al getting more minutes. WIth the C's, I understand that they are rebuilding, and, unlike a lot of C's fans, I don't overrate our team. Yea true. Id much rather suck with all the kids playing. I mean a veteran center should NOT be getting 3 rpg in 33 F'n minutes. WEST GETS MORE! And yes, I don't overrate my team either. Some people in here have a bad habit of that. Even Danny overrates them too. He knows deep down Orien is not that great. He slid to 53 for some reason and now we know. Gomes now is a solid pick. Gerald Green could possibly be overrated too as much as I'd hate to say it. He could either have a future or he could be a q woods. But Doc will never play him. Another coach at least would play him some of the time. I mean has he even seen a minute of this season? step1: Patterson for Blount for salary purposes step2:when Banks is healthy, give away Dickau at an easy price + resign Banks step3: trade one of our SF + the rest of the trade exeption (2.5 million) As long as Patterson takes Reeds place and gets limited minutes, fine. For 1 year, fine. Ruben can play well when his heads on straight. He is a rapist though. But, if thats what it takes to get Blonut out, DO IT. Just think of the people who will be making fun of our team then though. Ricky Davis + Ruben and lol. Maybe Allen can be dealt to the blazers with Blount to get Travis Outlaw and R Pat.

I fail to see a realistic trade scenario in this thread. I just think this season has to be dedicated to player development and settling for .500 ball and missing the EC playoffs.
We are better off trading the role players for draft picks and hanging onto Paul Pierce, Ricky Davis, Delonte, Al Jefferson and Raef LaFrentz. Bring Gomes, Reed, Orien, and Perkins off the bench. Try to outsource the rest. Blount should show well for trade value but I still do not think he is a career Celtic.
