Correct; what is not allowed is using two different exceptions for the same player.

You can structure a trade where we trade a player and the trade exception for two different players, where the trade between the player we give up and one of the other salaries matches, then the exception is used to accomodate the second player we get back.

Patterson doesn't play pf though.
