They have quite the mess in Dallas right now. DeAndre Jordan agreed to a contract with the Mavs. Tonight, Doc Rivers and his Clippers contingent went to Jordan's house and convinced him to come back to the Clippers. Reports are that they won't allow him to meet with Cuban or the Mavs and are staying at his house until after midnight when they can get hiim to actually sign.
Doc has violated a long held unwritten rule wherein once a player makes an agreement with a team he is off limits to other GM's. Not good on his part.
And Cuban said quite clearly that if they didn't land Jordan the Mavs would tank this season. Thing is that the Celtics own their pick if it is 8 or higher. Can they tank hard enough to drop below the 7th pick or will they be just bad enough to be in the upper lottery? Something to keep an eye on.

Terrible move by Rivers (my dislike for him grows more and more). Clippers players locking themselves in the house with DeAndre, and not allowing DJ to talk with Cuban and the Mavs. That is wrong (I read Cuban was trying hard to call DJ and find out where he lives). That is just wrong on so many levels by the Clippers' players (and I wouldn't doubt it for a second if Doc was behind this).

But there's now more incentive to keep tabs on the Mavericks -- if their draft pick falls between 8 - 11, we will receive it.
The Mavericks have a 37 year old Nowitzki, and two guys who are coming off major surgery who they hope can be big contributors (Chandler Parsons and Wesley Matthews). A few Western conference teams are looking better this upcoming season, and the Mavs may not make the playoffs. But also they're not going to be a bottom 5 team either. They could very well be a team that falls inbetween 8 - 11 worst in the NBA.

Doc doesn't believe in agreements/contracts. I'm not surprised
