I read this on the Nene Again thread what Doc said Red told him. Like how you don't trade the player, you try to solve the problem, this is a good approach to take. This explains why Bird wasn't an idiot and parted his best players after the suspensions. he just had a pissed off talk with the team and now they're better behaved. Same thing when Danny made the move to get Ricky. He explained to him that the old behavior in Cleveland wouldn't be tollerated so even though Danny knew Ricky was a previous cancer, he decided to take him on and work with him and it surely paid off. Teams like Utah dont take this approach. Utah just rids anyone whos a cancer and it will hurt them losing Snyder in the long run I feel. Now Rasheed Wallace still gets technical fouls like he used to but Joe D is a smart gm and he got him for a good deal and he also looks at the fact that hes needed for them to make a run. This is why I encourage a Drew Gooden option if it comes our way like lets say if Danny parts with Scala and one of our pgs not naming West but possibly Justin Reed as an option like in a 3 way trade and gets Gooden from the cavs and a pick from another team in a 3 way. Gooden is also an example of a player who has been criticised for his attitude. Danny could change that like he did with Ricky if he comes here.

Problem with Gooden is that he is a PF. And since his contract is soon to be up, IDK if Id want to pay a guy big bucks if all hes going to do is (hopefully) back up Al Jefferson.

Strange things have happened. it would replace Scalabrine and he might come at a bargain price seeing nobody will pay a lot for him. This means Danny can play the fa market like he did with Walker until he decides to come back cheap. Danny would still gain a 1st round pick out of it anyways even if he is let go. Its just an idea because of what Danny mentioned to get a deal to work in their favor to get 1 more piece like how Detroit got Wallace a few yrs back. This is the move I'm thinking it will take.

Then when Jefferson is ready, we wouldn't have a huge contract backing him up.
