Despite my pessimism of these last 2 games and I have a lot of it to come but he is coming up huge for us. He blocks big guys like Curry plus other guys who are hard to defend. He can pass well. I only wish he hit some in the 4th tonight though. It woulda put us over the top. He is playing much better than I expected though. I see a Bibby like player perhaps even a better player. I see Delonte West, Salim Stoudamire and Orien Greene being top future pg's (see Arenas) for young guys who were not picked too early especially Orien who went 53. West was a real find though. If he doesn't get hurt, he will be very vital. He impresses me. Although I right now am not impressed with anybody because of these last 2 pitiful losses. We should be 3-0 not F'n 1-2. Unless things change and our team wins through a good stretch, this slow start will continue.

Salim Stoudemire is not a PG.

He can turn into one though. Arenas was initially a sg also. So was Chauncey.

No, seriously, Salim is not a PG. He has no handles whatsoever. Chauncy and Arenas both came in with PG skills--Salim does not.

I guess I thought i knew more about him than I did. So he has none whatsoever? I heard in the draft preview that they could make him into a pg with some work.

Let's put it this way: Joe Forte had a lot more PG skills than Salim has, and this includes ball handling, court vision, and playmaking ability. And I don't know if there are even a handful of people who think Forte could have made it as a full time PG in the league.

Wow. Its no wonder he was looked upon as a drawback coming into the draft. He probably makes Marcus Banks look like Jason Kidd haha. its sad though that some sf's even have a better handle. This is why I can't get why Salim will be huge in this league like people say. Attitude plus his shortness and no ballhandling made him slide. I don't know where I see him in the future. Probably with God Shammgod.

Do NOT take God's name in vain.

Eja, not sure if your statement was part of sarcasm (Fresh has got me thinking everyone's a comedian ;D ), but if not, let me clarify Meltin's comment. He is not taking the Lord's name in vain. There actually was a PG who played for Providence with the name, God Shamgod.

Since I went to college around the same time, I was always wondering what a Providence (Friars) professor would say..."Mr _ _ _ Shamgod?" ;D

As a kid, he probably never heard the end of it. I mean, that's an enormous name to live up to.

My understanding was that his name was more like Shamgod Shamgod, but then changed it to God. I would have loved to see the look on the judge's face when he changed it.
There was a great article at the time he was drafted. It was like with the first pick the Celtics choose God. God will always take and make the last shot. God will provide leadership yada yada won't it be great to have God on the team, but what if the Celts don't win the lottery and pick second? Well I guess they'll pick Tim Duncan. He's pretty good.

Boston is part of the liberal North-East USA, they would pick Duncan over God any day of the week. Let God play in Utah or Texas. I don't think he's so welcome anymore in New Orleans...

Could be that God has more pressing matters than basketball anyway.
