IMO Dickau and Scalabrini were merely cheap insurance or stop-gaps in case our young PGs and Bigs took longer than hoped for to develop. If they aren't needed, they have tradeable contracts or they can be sat on the bench without any controversy. But if needed, they can give us decent play until the younger players are ready to take the lead.

I would rather send Dikau packing and have Marcus be a 3rd stringer for us. I had high hopes for Dan, but now I've lost them, he sucks. Marcus is definately not a backup, but he would be a nice 3rd string PG.

Derren, the Sports Guy couldn't believe Danny would break the bank for the pair.

I was thinking Dickau would be the starting point guard, so I am disapointed. Scala, a stiff w/ NJ, a stiff w/ BOS.

Both are showing life. I don't think fans gave them nearly enough time to adjust to Celtics basketball. Scala is looking solid in his few minutes on the court--not spectacular, but solid. He's making plays on the boards and on defense (got into the passing lanes on one play tonight and got a steal, which eventually led to a wide open dunk for him). He's not turning the ball over much anymore either (might be because of his limited playing time).
Dickau got minutes tonight because both Delonte and Orien were in foul trouble. But once he got in, our second unit started stabilizing, so Rivers rode him for a while. He looked confident out there and was looking to shoot the ball more. We might be seeing Doc using him more often.
