www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/37677/20051026/celtics_waive_bynum/Guard Will Bynum was waived by the Celtics on Tuesday, two months after he was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech.
In four exhibition games, Bynum averaged 1.3 points and 1.5 assists in 9.5 minutes. He had played on Boston's summer league team, averaging 4.2 points and 2.7 assists in six games.
As a junior at Georgia Tech, Bynum scored the winning basket to beat Oklahoma State in the 2004 NCAA semifinals before the Yellow Jackets lost to Connecticut in the championship game. He also spent two seasons at Arizona before transferring to Georgia Tech.wonder why danny even bothered to bring him in. he will be known forever not for his play but for getting tony allen into trouble...

Well, I guess it was inevitable. 5 PG's on the team is just unnecessary. Though I like his game, his short size is a detriment.
Question is, who's next?

either they cut Borchard or they will do a 2 for 1 trade (which seems unlikely to me since the season is about to start)

Not sure why he signed him to a guaranteed contract vs. just bringing him in. Or why not send him to the NDBL?

Not sure why he signed him to a guaranteed contract vs. just bringing him in. Or why not send him to the NDBL? NBDL still counts to the 15. If some team pick up a player cut, they take on the $, right? Mev? Help me here... Brochardt is gone, from what I read from other boards. No solid link to post, so it's just a rumor...

Yeah, I've read that Borchardt was cut too. If it hasn't happened yet, it will just be a matter of time.

borchardt has been cut.
12 players on active roster, 3 on passive roster. out of these last three 2 can be sent to nbdl assuming they are either first or second year players.
hopeit's as clear as it gets

You're right, C17, he has to be on our 15 man roster for us to send him to the NBDL. I believe the first year of Byum's contract was guaranteed. If we waive him and someone picks him up off of waivers, they take on the contract. But if no one does, we still owe him the money under his contract, and the new team he signs with can get him for the minimum salary.

So we are now at 15 and only 12 can be on the active roster, meaning at any given time, 3 players will not be suited up to play. Right now, Tony Allen and Marcus Banks would be 2 of the 3 on the inactive roster. I'd think that Gerald Green would be the 3rd guy.
