Tomorrow could be the start of a new chapter in Celtics history. We could draft a guy who becomes a superstar and ushers in more championship trophies to the city of Boston.
With so much talk floating around the internet about who we could be drafting and who we are locked into, I wish we had 10 draft picks so we could take all these players.
Put aside all these internet talks and listen to the voice in your head. Who is the one player you think we end up with. You don't know where we will be selecting at, we could move up, move down, stay put, or trade for.
Who do you think will be the newest Celtic?
I say Joel Embiid.

Embiid. Rim protection. I think Ainge is going to do exactly what he said he'd do originally. The Celtics also got his medical information and he's fine. That's what I think and I think the internet rumors are bad.
there is no other center in the next couple drafts who can protect the rim like Embiid. Okafor is good but is more in the mold of something else. He's also going to get something else. And it's not Wiggins. I think Ainge has liked Parker all along.

I say Embiid. I think we will get lucky and he'll fall to us. My toughest decision tonight will be do I buy an Embiid jersey or Anderson jersey.

Its not going to be easy getting the #1 pick from Cleveland, with Orlando offering the 4th and 10th picks and Arron Afflalo.
I don't think the Magic move up from 4th to 1st to draft Embiid, who could very well be there available at 4 (unless its Philly they are worried about -- they took an injured big man last year so it doesn't appear they are scared to do that).
All in all, Embiid might not make it to 6.

All in all, Embiid might not make it to 6. fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/tall-players-like-joel-embiid-are-more-prone-to-injury/Good article imo. Embiid also tweeted he was a laker late last night. Still going to be an exciting draft because I have no idea what is going to happen. Wiggins may be bpa but isn't as developed. Ainge wants a closer though. I think Parkers shot is more that and developed and with Embiid we have all the defense we need. Parker seems like a celtic anyways. He plays the right way. Kevin Love is a great option even still. Vonleh is a beast even still but more of a PF and might take some time. Marcus Smart is a really good pg. Gordon is a really good roleplayer. But taking all of that into account and what we need Embiid is probably worth a gamble. But we are going to need other parts. That is what my gut says. I'm still not ruling anything out. I think it's possible the Lakers could take Embiid. I more think the rumros are getting closer though. Gordon could go 5. Vonleh to the magic. Parker, Wiggins, Exum 1, 2 , 3. Randle to the Lakers. The Rondo and Green stuff is something else too. We c ould target the 8th pick etc. It's too much in ways to really know from just reading the internet and rumors. Austin Ainge said ignore of all it and I've tried to and that's the conclusion I've come to by just trying to figure it out myself and sticking with it. Could be totally wrong and that's fine. I think Embiid is worth the risk but there are concerns. It's no guarantee for sure. I think the doctors looked at his injury here though and for the most part the prognosis sounded pretty good. We could end up with Lebron for all I know right now. Definitely one of the weirder offseasons for sure. Exciting though. Embiid in an interview earlier said there is one team he wants to go to but he can't say. We'll find out soon enough if that is us. Embiid and Parker would be really great here imo. If Ainge went into this draft targeting a rim protector and closer that would be it.
