Embiid has confirmed that he's broken his foot.
Will this news (just a week before the draft) deter the Cavs from taking Embiid #1 overall?
I don't think it will. If anything, the back injury is a bigger deal. Lots of players break their feet, and come back playing well. I mean, even Randle broke his foot, a year ago, and he's fine.

It definitely doesn't bode well for him. He is looking like an injury waiting to happen at this point. Some players are just injury prone. Him being a big man that's always a concern and was already for me and this isn't m aking me want to draft him any moreso.
Problem with the draft in general is you really don't know what you are getting yourself into. I'm on the rondo train anyways at this point. I don't see why we are trading players we have for more unknowsn that may or may not be just as good.

I'd let other people take gambles on players like this and just do our own thing. It's early in the process it might seem to some people but I disagree. we have guys we took gambles on already and they may start paying dividends. If we have to take a gamble here then it's a good one but he's a walking injury right now.

It's good to scout these guys because if he slides and he ends up being tim Duncan great. But right now he's not. He is a risk.

If Cleveland decides to take someone else instead of Embiid, they'll go with either Parker or Wiggins.
That means Milwaukee and Philly will miss out on those guys they've been hoping to get. If they don't want Embiid, and think #2 or #3 is too high for Exum, Randle, Vonleh, Gordon or Smart, would they be interested in swapping picks?
What would it take for us to get the #2 or #3? The 6th pick and ??

When I read the first reports, I thought this was a smoke screen, because he didn't want to work out for MIL. After watching BOS this year, I can not take another year of it. Stay away Danny from Embiid.
