I think he could be a solid starting center in the Pekovic mold, but is he really a good fit with our current bigs? Do we want a rotation of slower bigs that have no shotblocking ability?
But on another note, if he is the best player available, go for it. We need to be in asset accumulation stage right now, and we need talent, period. But IMO if Gary Harris is on the board, Nurkic wouldn't be the best talent available.

I have to say I think this is one of the most mysterious and intriguing drafts ever. There are so many things going on at the same time. Just to count
Top prospect gets TWO serious injuries (one of which is 3 weeks or so before the draft)
one team has two top ten picks
The best player (sorta) in the league opts out of his contract about a week before the draft, where his old home team has the top pick
A top ten player wants OUT from his team
A top college player is a senior and nobody thought he was athletic, then at the combine he proves to be one of the MOST athletic
A highly athletic freshmen that shot less than 50% from the line
A Euro that EVERYONE has been waiting on won't be here for AT LEAST two years
A top college kid that played in the championship game hurts himself
A top 5 talent almost nobody has seen play
A top 5 talent that probably shoulda come out last year attacks a dbag fan and then comes out this year
A guard that leads his team to a ring over a verrryy talented Kentucky team, but nobody is talking about him or his teammates
A kid kicked out of UNC but then does very well in the NBDL is out there and is such a minor story line nobody even notices
The possible top pick is a Mormon that hasn't done his mission yet
The other possible top pick is a Canadian for the second year in a row and everyone has had their eye on him for about 4 years, but then he disappointed in college Felipe Lopez style and is STILL the top choice on a lot of boards
A Louisiana Lafeyette guard might get drafted ahead of the UConn championship guard AND the MSU guard
A Lithuanian-Canadian who nobody knew last year is the Big Ten POY and possible best shooter in the draft. Could play for either Olympic team should he want to
A possible 6ft 9 pg from UCLA
A son of a top overall previous draft pick
A Swiss guy gets in for only the 2nd time
A Wichita Stater gets drafted, possibly in the 1rst round
multiple teams with multiple picks including a team with 3.
There are just that many question marks
