bleacherreport.com/articles/2095776-2014-nba-mock-draft-projecting-every-pick-of-round-1-post-nba-finals/page/7I think it's coming down to Vonleh and A Gordon because they have the defensive ability needed. Gordon gets the slight nod as an elite athlete and a player capable of defending at two positions, if not three. He may even be able to guard 4 or all 5. If you can imagine Eric Williams on steroids......then take that player and give him steroids and a red bull....you may have A Gordon. Vonleh might be more like Biyombo on steroids, which is great. Samuel Dalembertish.......but still

I don't know. The last time I saw Eric Williams he was on basketball wives and part of the whole Kardashian culture or jersey version of it. Jersey shore stuff. He's from jersey though.

A nice sized center that can't jump over a deck of cards. Right now I'm all about asset collection. IMO this team is bad enough that we need to just get the best talent now and worry about fit later. I see Harris as a much better prospect than Nurkic.

Or am I thinking of the wrong center? I thought Nurkic was bigger dude without much rim protection potential but is a horse and the paint and has a promising post game? Possible attitude problem?
Man it grinds my gears that I can't access most sports stuff at work.

No that is Nurkic I think. He is like Pekovic or a player like that. He is another big guy who can't block shots I think although there are conflicting reports on that. Some scouting reports ive read say he is an "aggressive" shotblocker and should be a good one. Whatever that means. I've also read he is a shotblocking force. Other reports I've read say he isn't. He sounds like Pekovic to me and a guy who gets caught out of position a lot but who knows. Physical player but might get caught out of position is how I read it. Also supposedly mobile but that can mean a lot of things. Pekovic is mobile but he's more of a blob to me who gets caught out of position a lot. Hard to tell. Tiago Splitter was mobile and a pretty decent shot blocker coming out but I think Kurkic is more like Pekovic.
Maybe a cross between Pekovic and Vitaly Potopenko which when combi ned might not be a bad thing if he's physical.

I see Harris as a much better prospect than Nurkic. Ok I did some research on this....this is Jusuf physically......fresh is right that he can't jump. His standing jump last year was like 23 inches, which is horrible. I think for comparison Noah Vonleh is like 37. However ....Kelly Olynyk was 29.5. You have keep in mind last year Jusuf was 18 and KO was like 22. Also....KO..his wingspan was 6ft 9.75 inches....Jusuf is 7 ft 2. So maybe KO can presently jump 6 inches higher, but with the reach we're down to two inches. Next....Jusuf is about 280ish. Last year KO was 235. Get him in the gym and you're talking about a pretty big and strong guy at a young age. Buttttt....he's not just big, tall, and long reach...he also has "remarkable lateral speed and quick hands"...."remarkable feel for the game and basketball instincts, with several of the offensive possessions of his team usually passing through his hands". So you're talking about a younger, bigger, faster, stronger, very smart version of KO with a lot of fire. Not as good a shooter, but a good rebounder and probably a good defender. That's really good. It's hard to get good young centers. If he's actually as good as this I doubt he gets to us.
