His thing as a coach was always his psychological games he would play with his players. Will that work as a GM? He has built some good teams but was the coach. Red was a coach became a GM an ddid both successfully. A lot of coaches have and Jackson as a coach and person is definitely a competitor to the point of being a jerk. He is the GM in the mecca of basketball. Kind of quietly too. Bigger news than we really heard.
Might have some pretty strong effects on us as well.

W/ Jackson, he will trade for players that can play the Triangle (system). NY doesn't have a lot of assets right now.
I think I read somewhere that Jackson use to play psychological warfare w/ the media too.

It's tough to say. Dude definitely knows basketball. But he is also getting up there in age. Is he going to want to put it in all the hours necessary to build a championship team?

I guess it depends on how well he can communicate with other GM's around the league. Finding trading partners is part of the GM's duties, and if he rubs GM's the wrong way, he might not get calls returned.

Danny said it best, the 3 Ds. Drafting, dealing, and development.
