Gotta tip my hat off to the East -- I thought the West was going to run away with the game after the big lead they built. But the East came fighting back, and I found myself cheering for players I normally root against (Lebron, Carmelo).
It was an interesting game, and quite competitive. You could tell that both teams didn't want to let the other team win. In watching the All-Stars compete on this stage, I learned a few things:
-Lebron, Durant, and Chris Paul are the gold medal players. They imposed their will. They are championship caliber #1 players.
- Paul George and Kyrie Irving are knocking on the door to be included with the group I just mentioned. Irving especially imposed his will in the second half. Creativity-wise, he's near Chris Paul's level (CP3 is the better set up man while Kyrie is the more creative scorer).
-Carmelo is so much better as the sidekick, ala Ray Allen. Makes me wonder ................. hmmm?
- Blake Griffin was not in the running for MVP in my book. Yeah, he scored a bunch of points and made lots of FG's, but he was set up for 10 dunks.

I heard that tonight's game was a lot of fun, which is good to hear. All-star games catch so much flack (they're unnecessary, the players don't care, etc), I enjoy seeing the players put on a great show and shut up the skeptics.
I remember watching an all-star game from the early 00s that was easily the best i've seen (or probably will ever see). it was during that stretch in the early 00s when the west was dominant (sound familiar?) and the east's roster looked pretty puny compared to the west. but the east had a ton of talented guards/small forwards and the ended up winning the game in a nail biter. Allen Iverson was POed about everyone writing off the east and he played like a man possessed. the game was just fantastic.
