Now that Jefferson is going to be with the starting 5 and Banks is looking like the 3rd stringer at best (possibly 4th if he doesn't improve and Orien comes out strong), our B-Unit has a new look to it.
Ricky Davis will probably still be on the B-Unit once Tony Allen comes back and that's exactly where I want him. Trying to figure out who else will be there with him is tricky.
For sure either Delonte or Dan Dickau will be there (whichever one isn't the starter). Ryan Gomes and/or Justin Reed too. Perk will be there, Scalabrine too.
PG- Delonte SG- Ricky SF- Gomes PF- Scala C- Perk
Not exactly the fast breaking and instant scoring unit we had last year with Ricky, Banks, and Jefferson. That unit sent the tempo of the game into overdrive. A bit different this year without them. Not saying that this B-Unit isn't as good. I have a feeling Gomes will be a solid contributor. Perkins can add some muscle and rebounding. Scala can add veteran savvy and Delonte is a smart player who comes up with timely plays. Overall, this unit may be smarter and more consistent, as opposed to last year's second unit. The B-Unit from a year ago was highly effective when shots were falling. But when they got out of sync, things got ugly and it exposed how young they were. This year's B-Unit may not be as explosive, but on paper, they seem more consistent.

I would like to see G Green, and O Greene crack the B-team. Not this year, maybe next.

Yeah, maybe next year. Gerald Green will have a lot of competition to even get 5 minutes a game consistently.

Still don't see Jefferson starting, unless after a while Doc decides to pair him with either Raef or Blount, and the other one with Perk.
'Personally I t hink the greatest mystery is where Allen fits in.

Lots of talent at every position........
I got to think a trade will happen sooner or later.

I've already penciled Jefferson in at starting PF. I think Blount's a better fit off the bench because he can provide that scoring punch from the B-Unit.
I like Tony Allen quite a bit. But if push comes to shove, if they needed to move a wing player (not named Pierce or Ricky), I'd imagine it'll be Allen. After his night club incident, his stock may have taken a hit.

I am very encouraged with the way our second unit is shaping out. We indeed have the potential to be a very deep team!!!
Here are the names of players who can be big factors off the bench:
Blount (still waiting for him to revert back to the bad Blount, but so far looking really good. Adds a very good scoring hand off the bench)
Perkins (rugged rebounder who can make an immediate difference on the boards as soon as he comes in)
Ryan Gomes (showing the world that Danny Ainge is the new generation's Jerry West. Picked up Gomes with the 50th pick and this kid is looking like a mid first round talent. Got a scoring touch and also a terrific rebounder at his position. Good scoring spark off the bench)
Justin Reed (in-your-face defender who plays physical and can also put up some points and rebound)
Tony Allen (fabulous basketball talent who would normally start, but may get pushed to the bench because of Ricky Davis. High energy player who can electrify the crowd with his high flying dunks and sticky defense).
Ricky Davis (if Rivers doesn't start him, he's easily one of the better 6th men in the league. High energy player with instant offene capabilities. Ignites the crowd)
Marcus Banks (game changer from a defensive standpoint. Can pressure any PG with his defense. Top notch speed and athleticism. Creates offense off of steals and has a developing midrange and 3pt shot)
Brian Scalabrine (gritty player who has an midrange and 3 point shot. Good offensive rebounder. Rugged player you'd like to have on your team).
We can easily have a strong 12 man rotation that would be tops in the league. And once Gerald Green emerges, he adds another big time threat to the roster.
