Every solid offensive team has a good amount of quality shooters on the team. If we are going to rely on moving the ball and hitting the open players, we need to have shooters on the team to make it work.
As far as consistent shooting is concerned, these are the guys we have:
Raef LaFrentz Paul Pierce Delonte West Dan Dickau
Ricky Davis is a bit streaky, so I'll include him in the second tier.
Gerald Green should be added to the first tier because I've seen him shoot and he's got very good form and touch on his shots. But because he's only a rookie, I'll put him in the 3rd tier, until he proves otherwise. Same with Ryan Gomes.
The more consistent we become knocking down outside shots, the better our offense will flow and the harder it will be for defenses to load up on our better players.

Yea, Derren ! I couldn't agree with you more. That has been our problem in the past - inconsistent shooting from the weak side. That is why, I believe thsi team, though young, will surprise many teams, offensively. These guys have no fear, when it comes to shooting. They will become "young assassins" in this league. Dan, Gomes, Reed, GREEN, Delonte even Orien. If teams want to "tag up" on Paul, Al or Ricky.....then they WILL pay dearly !

Gomes might be a nice one to put in the 2nd group.

Yep, the young guys we have do seem to have that aggressive mentality. Being able to knock down open jumpers is going to be key for us offensively. It'll be useless for Doc to preach ball movement if open player can't knock down open shots.

Good shooting always helps, but you must do all the other "little things" the coaches keep harping on to be successful in this league.
This team will rely on POSITIVE ENERGY!!!!!!!

Case in point--last night's game. Scalabrine wasn't hitting his open shots, and neither did Dickau. Together, they were a combined 4 - 18. That is not going to cut it. Dickau is a much better shooter than that and I'm confident that Scalabrine will find his stroke. Anytime role players are shooting a combined 4 - 18, it'll hurt the team.
