Here we go, preseason has officially started for the men in green!!!!
The Cavs had a big win last night vs. the Wizards and they may be feeling good about themselves. We need to bring them back to earth.
Time to see who'll step up this year for us. Perkins and Blount have been all the rave in training camp thus far. We'll see if it carries on.
Pierce and Ricky have been acting like leaders and I would like to see how much different their attitudes are (leading by example).
Dickau and Delonte are fighting for the starting spot and Orien Greene is closing in on them.
Ryan Gomes is not playing like a rookie and he could find himself getting a good amount of playing time.
I want to see if our defense has gotten any better. As much as I want to see our team continue being one of the top offensive teams in the league, we need to kick our defense up a few notches to be considered a true playoff team.
Prediction: 98 - 93, Celtics. We will have a big opening quarter, struggle in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and turn it on in the 4th. Ricky Davis will be the high scorer with 20 pts and Perkins will pull down 8 boards. Dickau will have 8 assists.

I see about 18-24 minutes per player. They need to see them to evaluate them. Win or lose, I don't put much value on that part, right now.

Of course. Right now, finding the right combination of players and seeing who fits in which role are of higher importance. Maybe the combination of Raef and Dickau running the pick and roll will work and we need to use this time to see who has the best chemistry between one another on the floor. Ricky may be the 2nd best player on the court, but he may find himself on the bench because he's most effective as our 6th man extraordinaire.
Lot of things to pay attention to this preseason. Rivers raves about how well training camp went because all his players came in prepared.

I see Mt Perk at 10pts/10reb/3fouls, also, Reed and Gomes in a solid battle for minutes. (same goes for AW & DD)...

Rivers says that he will use Justin Reed to go up against Lebon James. That is a pretty big test for him. But if he can live up to the challenge, he will instantly become our defensive stopper against the likes of Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Michael Redd, and other notable wing players.

If he can hold any of these guys back, what could he do against the rest of the team's top wing? Starter?

I don't know if he has Bruce Bowen/Ron Artest type of defensive abilities, but he could turn out to be a change of pace defender for Doc to use when he needs to cool off hot wing players. A spot defensive pressure guy.

anybody can score but not all can play defence
Spoken like a man who puts Bill Russel's picture in his avatar. Lets hope we get better defensively as an entire unit.
Hey Greeniacs, I'd like to start hearing your predictions for the game.

Ok, predict how many minutes Gerald Green will get tonight.
My prediction is that he'll only play in 5 minutes (oh, stop the booing). Gerald Green is the least of Rivers worries. He needs to figure out the wing rotation (Pierce, Ricky, Gomes, Reed, Delonte) and won't have much time to see what Green can do.
