Players do things they get away with. Anything to win. Even if its faking an injury to stop an offense from going no huddle in the NFL. Even if its pretending to get hit by a pitch in baseball to get on base. Wins are everything. And the NBA encourages this by refusing to have better officiating. Sure they came out with fines for obvious flopping but NBA refs have been a known problem for a long time now. I blame the refs not the players.

It's hard to put all the blame on the refs. When making a split second call it is hard to tell if the contact made was enough to call a foul, or if the player flopped. They could always look at in replay, but that would take forever. To combat it the league needs to stick with their fining system and crack down on players more. If you start taking significant amounts of money from these guys, you will see the more blatant flopping disappear.

Or you could have a great player just say "I am not going to flop. I am not a Euro trash soccer player. I will not flop". But Lebron isn't a great player.
