Hey, thanks Elrod for contributing to our website. That was a solid artilce you put together. I don't know how Mark Blount qualifies as one of the top 52 players on the team, but hey, that's just me ;D

i think you can pretty much delete everybody on that list from position 35 & down.
You might as well put Bill Walton in at position 35 for his role in the 1985-1986 championship team

If Walton had played for the Cs for four years, he would definitely be on the list. I lived in the Northwest when Walton played for Portland. For two seasons he was the best basketball player I have ever seen. He owned Jabbar. He was a 7-1 Bill Russell. Had he remained healthy, Portland probably might have run off five or six more titles in the late 70s and early 80s. (Here is the scary thought: With Walton healthy, the Blazers may well have drafted Bird instead of Mychal Thompson in the 1978 draft.)

Kind of a weird list. I usually love these things but that was a bit depressing. Ricky Davis should be on the list by now.

Elrod, is there a minimum of years a player needs to have played for us for you to name him onto the team? I agree with Eja--I'd put Ricky on your list and would easily take Blount off the list to accomodate him.

The list should have been cut off at 20. To see the soft creampuff Mark blount's name on this list makes me want to puke. The guy has been a disapointment, and a slacker.

Howell - too high. McHale should be ahead of Parish (not to dawg him). D Johnson - too high. Sanders - too low. (bs about his rebounding)
And were is Cliff Claven? ;D

Seeing as how Blount has hurt the team more than he has helped it, it would have made more sense to put a lot of Celts on there in front of him.

At least he has a chance to change some of our thoughts. The retired guys are set in stone, for the most part.

They had an opportunity to draft Micheal Jordan but instead selected Sam Bowie....... That is downright frightening and my ex-brother-in-law from Portland is calling the West Coast Version of the curse of the Bambino. On a side note, I took his sister on a honeymoon to Cape Cod in June of 1986 and Len Bias died on our honeymoon. That is my unfinished business now that the Red Sox got their title. Also, Dino Radja was omitted. He was a nice player who could score and rebound but was a lousy defender. Another Omission was David Wesley, a Solid combo guard for the Celtics but a Pitino lay-off victim. Pitino really set this franchise way back with his actions. Those I have chronicalled in the years gone by on the ESPN messageboards, here, and Celtic-Nation.
