Is the Mazda 3 some sort of North Eastern thing? Like how Subaru's are an Alaskian thing?

Actually Subarus are very big here in Maine as well. I think there was even an LL Bean branded one a while back.
I've always preferred small cars, and never liked spending a lot on vehicles. The Mazda3 is the nicest looking (IMO) and sportiest car under $20,000. Was in 2007 and I think it's still true today.

Personally, I feel like Mazda has a good reputation in terms of engines. Same for Toyota and I'd probably include Honda. This obviously varies based on generations and the changes they make. However, Mazda has style and definitely is one of the few non-luxury car brands to make their cars look like luxury/sport cars successfully. And they're fun to drive which can't be said for most of its competitors. I only know because my Fiancee has a manual Mazda 6 which I've enjoyed driving.
Subaru definitely has a big share in the northeast. They were pushing "all wheel drive" on all cars before everyone else kind of caught up. Plus, they come off as good cars for hiking/camping/adventuring.

I drive the Honda Fit. I prefer small cars. 11-years, 183k for miles. A very reliable car that has great gas mileage (35-40/g highway).

My wife has a Subaru Forester. I used to like it a lot till I got my Mazda. Now every time I drive it I feel like it's revving even though the RPMs aren't that high. It's like the official car where I live.

I am dying to have a Mazda 3 in the future because of how incredible it looks and because of what they did with the engine (it's space age stuff) but the manual transmission is only available on the highest trim, which makes me think it'll be impossible to find. Makes me think I'll just have to drive what I have till I die

I drive a 2009 mercury sable. bought it from an older couple a few years back for $6800. it had only 39k miles on it. i wasnt really in the market for a car but the price was too good. im over 90k now and havent stuck a penny into it. the 08-09 Sables and Tauruses are great cars.

Ok ok. Riddle me this.
The other day the fuel indicator suggested I had a range of 121 miles on my fairly newish Mazda. I coulda sworn I blinked and suddenly it said 33 miles. I drove it a few more short drives and the range actually went up. Then I put about 7 gallons of gas in it and now it shows a full tank, which seems a tad generous unless I really did have about 121 miles in it all along.
Anything like that every happen to you? Anything I should do?

We're thinking of getting a Mazda CX5. Anyone got one of those?
