In the past I was never happy with the drafts, I remember the Brown/Johnson/Forte draft like it was yesterday. I even left work early to come home and watch it live. And as it unfolded I felt like I was being punched in the stomache after each pick. None of them made sense. Especially Forte, I hate trying to turn SGs that can't dribble at all into PGs. At least if he had shown signs before I wouldn't have hated it but he was a pure shooter and not good at that even. Coming outta UNC just made him seem important to many people. The Montross pick I was mutedly excited over, I thought he had a chance to be something decent, but never a superstar. Billups I thought was gonna be good, and Mercer I never liked. I did think that Moiso was a flop the second he entered the draft. I am still not sold on the Perk pick, but I still think there is tons of time for him to settle it out.

Forte was picked in large measure because of strong support from Red.

I agree, but it still doesn't change the fact that I didn't like the pick, it doesn't say slam wallace it says before Danny

Have to judge the draft by the GM, not who was picked in the past. Pitino was one of the worst GMs in the NBA.
