Many people have made the comment that Green plays a lot like Tracy McGrady (Doc included, and he coached McGrady). There was an interview with Gerald Green on a website called IGN and Green himself says that he copies moves he sees McGrady doing--and I'm sure he does more than just that. I would not be surprised if he tries to emulate his game after McGrady's.
In your own opinion, is this good or bad?

emulate one of the most dominating players in the league? I would think that would be a good thing. Besides the choke, T-mac is one of the more all-around GF in the game. 25.7 pts 6.2 rebs 5.7 ast. If Green even remotely comes to those numbers I'll wet myself.

I think McGrady is an awesome player, but I do not like the way he plays. He's more of an individual player than Pierce is (or was, hopefully).

Yea maybe Green will model his game after McGradys while not trying to be as individual of a player but it will be hard to do if you're a T-Mac like scorer. I think he will be a good inbetween the way Doc will be coaching him not to be selfish and all plus Danny monitoring things. As much as I may not care for McGrady, I must admit that he has height plus he gets 26-27ppg and 6-7 rpg or so. Green will get less ppg than that like maybe 22 but be more a team player and less of a take the ball in crunch time and choke type star.

The way I see Green, he's moves around a lot more than McGrady. His offense doesn't just seem to be sizing up his opponent and then attacking. Green's offense is more like Ray Allen's--they both move around and use their speed more to attack than T-Mac.

This also sounds like Rip Hamilton also. Even if Green becomes that good, it would be real nice.

Yeah, he does have a bit of Hamilton in him. Though I'd say its more because of their fluidity on the court more than the way they play. Hamilton is not just a catch and shoot guy--he's pretty good at slashing to the basket and converting shots 7 feet and in. I think Green has this ability too.
But going off of what I've seen of Green, his game follows closer to Ray Allen's, moreso than McGrady or Hamilton.

Only he can dunk way better than Allen. Even if he becomes a tall Ray Allen, that would be super with Pierce and Ricky there at the other wings.

If he's anything like those guys then we got ourselves a steal at #18. You could also put him down in the J-Rich/V-Carter category as well. Good jump shooters who can jump out of this building.

Kobe and Shaq won several trophies that I am sure Shaq could have won with Tracy. The issue isn't GG playing like Tracy. The issue is that he should know he is firmly #2 or 3 behind AL J, and possibly Perk. Big men come first.

Green will be just as good as J-Rich at least.

I think he'll be more of an exciting player than J-Rich. He has more charisma.

Yea thats also true. J-Rich although acrobatic and flashy is somewhat of a boring type of a star player. Green will be more recognized than he will. J-Rich only has a few fans opposed to what Gerald will have.
