Avery Bradley's offseason emphasis

If Avery Bradley's offense can come anywhere close to catching up to his defense, Boston's young two-guard could have a very promising future. If this season was any indication, though, the 22-year old still has quite a ways to go in that regard.
His offseason emphasis is simply this: Make significant improvements on the offensive side of the ball. And he's enlisted the help of a trainer this offseason to make that more possible.
That trainer, Chris Hyppa, spoke to CelticsTown.com about what areas of offense he and Bradley are specifically addressing this summer.
"Right now we are trying to improve on what he’s not very good at. We are trying to improve his ball-handling," Hyppa told the web site. "Looked at five guards in the East who are all-stars right now, last year it was Rajon Rondo, Kyrie Irving, Jrue Holiday, Paul George, Dwyane Wade. Those were the five guards in the East. The thing those five players can do, what they have in common, is that they can create their own shot consistently, night in and night out. Right now, Avery’s biggest weakness is creating his own shot. If he can do that consistently, he can be in the same category as those five."
Will it pay off? That remains to be seen. But Bradley's stifling defense should serve as evidence that he's willing to work hard. Considering that, and the fact that he's still only the age of most college seniors, and there's reason to believe Bradley still has a chance to become a more viable offensive option in the years ahead.
