eeNice post. Great read. Welcome to CelticGreen! Now, you are a Greeniac, like it or not. ;D edit- Let me add some here - without making another post. (Modify, as it were) I believe MBlount will have a solid season. Sorry BC. ;D This person also had Gomes at 4 and Reed a 3. I like the thought of that line up. Jeff (Yes, at the C/5) / Mt Perk #4 (retired in HS) /Reed / Jeff / Reed / Pierce / Davis / West / Pierce Dickau / West / I could (/) all night with this squad....

Doc is truly gonna have his hands full. Danny has just drafted too great and also by best player available so this crowds many positions up when you don't draft by need. Now hes probably not gonna make many trades to get positions our team really needs. Drafting by best player available is good to do and all but it causes rotation concerns. I knew this all along. I mean besides Pierce, Ricky, Allen and Green will be a sure competition. Pierce will be forced into playing the 3 once again. Gomes will probably play the 4 with Scalabrine behind Jefferson. I can see the pf position being flexible with Jefferson getting about 25mpg, Scalabrine 10-12 minutes and Gomes like 10-12 or so. Reed will not be benefitting out of this unless Tony Allen gets hurt. Reed will see little minutes most likely.

Which means keep eating fiber and prunes ;D
Welcome to the club, Ee.
Doc indeed has too much to work with here. In a way, I feel for Doc, because its not easy to sort this situation out. With the amount of young players on the team, he can't get an accurate grasp of what this team is capable of because he won't know until the players develop.
I eventually would like to see a tight 9 man rotation, with those 9 guys getting almost all of the minutes. Ideally, a 12 man roster is what I want, just in case of injuries or foul trouble.

Thanks, guys. I'll be checking in throughout the season. This looks like a smart and civil board. I spend a lot of time at realgm and celticsblog. This is going to be an exciting year.

I feel that this will be Docs biggest challenge. Bigger than Orlando. He happened to have 3 or 4 undrafted rookies in his lineup as a rookie coach but that roster was in no way shape or form as good and deep and stacked and confusing like this roster is.

I think it was Doc, when people were complaining (last year) about his rotations. Like no rhyme or reason to them. This is going to be his biggest challenge, because he has players 2-3 deep at every position and he also has to find ways to motivate the players who are not playing as well.

Doc has an unenviable task ahead of him. How in the world is he going to give enough time to all these young players to develop them? I just don't know how Delonte, Allen, Banks, Perkins, Reed, Gomes, and especially Al Jefferson and Gerald Green (our two brightest stars)are going to be given the ample amount of playing time they need to really develop their games. I'm talking about 25 minutes per game for each one of those guys, with Jefferson (and eventually Gerald Green in a couple of years) getting more like 30 minutes eventually.

Danny will have to make a few trades with some of our veterans to cut the roster down a little. Maybe he already gave one of those guys (Borchardt, Woods) to NO for Dickau plus that 2nd rd pick. He may have to give Ricky up like I said before. I don't see Ricky and Pierce together being on this team for much longer. 1 will have to go depending on how Pierce settles in as a good team player wiith this new team concept or if hes willing to take a cheaper salary once payday comes around. If so, Ricky could be gone instead. Or Allen may be gone sooner than we think. Who knows with guys like him.
