With Babcock there, you bet. Maybe Danny could offer Pierce to Toronto seeing they lost VC. That could get them a player and a pick whenever they want to exercise it meaning 2007 perhaps.

Well, that's not that bad an idea. But they already Joey Graham, who could turn out to be a pretty good wing player for them. But I doubt Ainge will be a mean GM and move him to Toronto.

Yea, I forgot about that part. Danny trys to make both sides work as best as he can. I think a deal to send him to the warriors is good or sacramento. Some team who may have a chance at folding in a year.

Nobody knows that though. The team could still be not too good. But say if it was a 25 win team, it could go from that to a 37-38 win team anyways.

No team is going to give up thier #1 if they suspect they are lottery-bound. Our best bet is to hope that Cleveland tanks in 2007 (injuries, internal strife, lack of chemistry) and barely misses the playoffs; but even then, I think the pick we got for Welsch is top 10 protected.

yes, this means that we should get as many first round picks from borderline playoff teams as we get. and then hope one of them falls fast

Yea, trading Pierce for a top 5 may not be in a teams best interest. Maybe picks 11-15 a team would give at the highest. And the Jiri pick I heard nothing about being top 10 protected. The laker pick now is top 10 protected this season.
