so guys whom do you expect to have the worst record this season and the next ? sure it's hard to predict what happens next year, but let's give it a try. my guess is either toronto, new orleans or atlanta.
so if some of us want to trade pp for a chance to get oden then these are the teams to deal with.

The usual suspects are the teams you mentioned, BC. I'm thinking its going to be the Hornets. With the trauma that city has been through, its going to be emotional to get through this season. Even if they relocate to another city, it still means major adjustments for the players to get used to a new city, new fans, and a new arena. Atlanta and Toronto will probably be better than the Hornets.

I know what you mean. This is a way we can get our chances at Greg Oden. It'll be close to impossible to grab him once its set who'll get the first pick. I don't think dangling Pierce will get us that first pick either. Ainge will have to guess which team will have the best chance to get the worst record.

Unfortunately though, the top pick is not about the worst record. The draft lottery can have a team projected to get the 6th pick winning it.

No, but the chances are in their favor. That's all we can do, take our best guess at who will be the worse because percentage wise, they have the best chance to get that top overall pick.

Not really. I look at all these drafts and nobody who is the worst team wins it very often. But I guess higher chances can give a team more hope anyways.

This isnt about preplanned losing. Its about trading to get that pick from another team which the celtics did not do. They counted on 1 pick and that was their very own.

I would be happy if we could trade for a top 5-8 pick. Ainge could pull out a nice player there.
With the core-players we have, potential wise, we don't need the first pick to continue the Celtic construction. The players we have are real young, just out of HS young, we have some time.
I just want two first round picks next year.

It would be interesting to see how Danny would use a top 10 player draft pick. We know he can draft well, outside of the lotto, and into the second round. How would this translate into a lotto pick?

I want to see that too, Runner. I believe he would do fine...

Thats why a shot at Oden would not hurt one bit if it was to rely on the other picks danny dealt for that could be lotterybound. Because if he didn't get Oden and lets say the c's end up with #2 and not #1, that could still pull in a dynasty like player in even with Oden gone by #2.
