This one's a little different. I don't remember the context, but Tommy used the word forte, as is "that's his forte" and he pronounced it "fort" , not "fortay" as most everyone does. I thought he was wrong, but I decided to look it up and it turns out he was right. Who knew? Some dictionaries now accept "fortay" as an alternative pronunciation because it's in such common (mis)use, but "fort" was the original correct way of saying it. Anyway, I think of Tommy every time I hear someone say forte.
