I'm feeling pretty sure that there's not going to be a Pierce for Miller and Nene trade (good, because I'm not ok with it). But I wonder if that makes a trade with Denver dead?
I'm not ready to say that Pierce isn't heading to Denver. Last week, some talks were circulating about a trade involving us and them. It wasn't a big rumor, and many just brushed it off as internet rumors. But it surfaced and appeared on Insidehoops. It was shot down the very next day, but that doesn't take away the fact that people were murmuring about this for more than a week. Chances are, if you see a few puffs of smoke here and there, there's a possibility that there may be a fire somewhere.
Not only in Celtic-land was there talk of Pierce being traded. People outside the organization are feeling that Pierce is on his way out, too.
By now, you've probably read that this Boston sports radio guy named Ryan Russillo said that there's a 110% chance that Pierce is going to still be a Celtic come opening day in November. And WEEI confirmed that Ainge denied this rumor. And according to a revised Insidehoop article (the same guys who brought this rumor to the front page), a high ranking Celtics official said that this rumor is "incorrect".
In my vocabulary, "incorrect" does not mean its not true. By using "incorrect", the Celtics official who made this comment is not saying that this deal is fabricated, but could be saying that the players involved are wrong. Maybe instead of Nene and Miller, it could be some other player(s). And at this point, I'm going to totally ignore Ainge. Whatever comes out of his mouth, I'm not going to take to heart. He can deny all he wants and make it sound as though this deal came from outter space. I know that its during times like these when he twists thing around and there's a chance that he does the opposite of what he says.
So until the season starts and our 15 man roster is set, I'm not going to think about who our starting 5 is going to be (alright, I probably will, but it'll be just to kill time).
