With 18 players on the current roster, Ainge needs to trim that number down to 15 before the season starts. He'll most likely cut 2 players with the money Miami sent to us in the Walker trade and conventional wisdom says that those 2 players are Qytnel Woods and Curtis Borchardt. But it doesn't necessarily have to be them 2--it can be whomever Ainge chooses to cut.
He'll need to cut 3 altogether.
He can either cut 3 players, or make a trade (in addition to cutting a player, or two).
Will he, or won't he, make a trade before the season starts?

If he makes a trade he'll have to get something back, so he can only use a trade as a way to cut down the roster if he gets a pick or cash in return. Knowing DA they'd offer him a player and he wouldn't be able to resist

DA could two players for one and cut two other players from our current roster. We'll need to see if Allen is heading for jail or not. Ainge might want to wait and see how this issue pans out.

I hope so. Tony Allen is one of my favorite players, and I have a lot of confidence in him. I would hate to lose him because of his foolish behaviors. Hopefully, this is nothing more than a guy trying to get money out of a famous basketball player.

I don't think Ainge will make any other trades, unless something comes up that he can't resist. I don't antcipate that happening. I think three players get cut. Roster set.

e33- Any thoughts on what it might take take for DA to make a trade? Not so much players coming in. Players he might want to move... I see it as a Banks/Blount/Allen deal. Pick two or all three and see what you can get. Sorry Derren, I know how much you like Tony. His lose of consetration (on the court) and he putting himself in this situation... I'm not sure if I believe what I just wrote. I'm so confused and tossed-up on the whole thing. I doubt another GM would touch TA right now.

This isn't good at all for us if Allen develops a bad reputation like this. What did he do again? I don't think Ainge will make any other trades, unless something comes up that he can't resist. I don't antcipate that happening. I think three players get cut. Roster set. Thats a future trade sorry not right now. I think eventually, he will offer a package of young guys he developed to grab someone like a Ridnour or a Prince meaning someone who has great value to their teams.

I just think something will need to come along that will blow Danny away for him to make a trade. We already know he is not just giving Paul away. If he wanted to get rid of him just to get rid of him it would have been done by now. If someone calls with an offer that is worth it he may bite, but I don't think he would initiate it. That would include Pierce, Blount, Banks. I just think that this is the team that will go into training camp. Lots of comp in training camp, and whoever wins the battles will start. I think Ainge will go with what we have now and sees what happens.

Ainge may also make us think he wants a lot for Paul Pierce but maybe he feels with our sg glut that one will emerge by the time Pierces contract is up, he may not want a sh|tload for him like we think he does. Maybe it will be a lottery 1st rounder plus a player like Lorenzen Wright or something.
