I hate it when my eurowife naively points out true stuff. Like why is Notre Dame the Irish when the name is in French. Why wasn't Boston College the Irish? Wouldn't that make more sense. And she sees the Trojan guy swinging around the sword and just laughs

Yesterday, I watched the ND-USC game. First NCAA football game I had seen in years. ND somehow finds a way to win every game. USC which I felt had the better players somehow finds a way to lose the (big) games.

USC which I felt had the better players somehow finds a way to lose the (big) games. Only thing USC had going for em were their receivers. At nearly every other facet of the game their personnel were more hype than substance. Even Barkley was...well...he was okay but he can hardly be counted on to lead a team the way other top QB picks in past years have done.

If Teo doesn't win the Heisman I'll probably stop regarding it as a major award. That freshman would be an ok consolation prize, but Teo has accomplished everything you could possibly ask anyone to do. He singlehandedly resurrected THE major football program from the dead.

I think on USC's final drive, they threw 2 passes to the left side of the end zone, and #6 from ND got called twice for pass interference. The bad part was they still couldn't score. Who was calling the offensive plays? Yup, Lane Kiffin.

espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8674097/gene-chizik-fired-auburn-tigerslleeeettttt me get this straight. 2 years after a Heisman and national championship Auburn is firing their coaches. Actually buying them out. For $11+ million. And we wonder why tuition keeps going up? The trustees need to immediately reverse the decision and fire the AD and president of the university In other news former BC coach was fired from NC State after taking the team to 3 straight bowls. He did poorly against other ACC teams. Apparently NC State expects to find a better coach. Good luck with that NC State. I'm sure you'll have coaches lining up to work for you

Eja, how about BC firing their coach. Why am I adding this? The former AD fired the previous coach for "interviewing for a job."

Yeah BC has shown that they expect loyalty to them even if a pro team wants to interview you, but they have no loyalty to you if you lose. BC won't be a national program any time soon
