sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/2004/draft/players/18954.htmlI know the reports in this article aren't the best report and all but it is good that this guy is overseas now. Come to think of it when he returns to the nba, just expect the unexpected. I know I am. I know y'al have your hearts set on Perkins and Jefferson being the main 2 young bigs but it could just be this guy if 1 big man doesn't pan out or he could be a 3rd guy when Raef is gone. Something just tells me that he will be a big help when he returns and to the celtics. I mean hes a post player, hes developing toughness over in europe like many other players over there have. Who knows what this guy will be like. I think his chances are just as good as Darkos are to be good for the future. Only this guy may have the advantage of playing in europe for a longer time.

I'd like to get excited over this guy, but I can't because I have never seen him play. I've seen pictures of him, and he looks like he has an NBA body. But I can't tell much from pictures.
I won't hold my breath on this guy, but I'd like to follow his progress. Meltin, maybe you can periodically post his stats for us to see how he's doing in europe. Keep us updated on his progress/regress.

This guy will NEVER play in the NBA or on the Celtics. And in two months, we will all have forgotten who he is...sorry Albert

I'll second that. Id bet dollars to doughnuts this guy never gets a sniff of regular season PT. Maybe a training camp invite at the most.

Third... We might as well get E Brown back, if he does.

Yeah, as tight as our roster is, Ainge may have to resort to cutting him.

If he doesn't play minutes in europe, it is kinda hopeless. He could also surprise some too. I just can't see anyone like that just rotting away like that.

No need to cut him; he is not under contract with us and therefore not on our roster. We merely hold the rights to him as a draftee -- so when his european contract expires he could only sign with us (I believe we hold the exclusive rights for either one or two years after he becomes a FA in Europe).
I have no idea if he will ever play in the NBA, but you never know.

I guess that makes sense. I mean, if he's playing for a european team and getting paid by them, we aren't paying his contract.
Do you know when his contract with this european team ends?

Look at Sabonis. He was a rookie in what would be his 8th or 9th yr in the league had he came out in 86. It will take a whole lot to be anything like Sabonis was but when Mirallas comes out, he could surprise but he'll probably be due to come to the nba in 2008.
