My point in trading Big Al with Pierce for Brand, Maggette, and Livingston was contracts needed to match up and simply trading Pierce for Livingston (or whatever) doesn't even make it close. Also, as much potential as Big Al may have, Brand has certainly proven himself in this league already, and in the eastern conference, he has even more of a chance to succeed. I am all about Jefferson, but if we could acquire Brand for him, it is REALLY hard to say no.

Those contracts def wouldnt match up. I think Brand is maxxxed out. I could be wrong. Id have to know a little more about Brand b4 giving the big thumbs up on that trade. And Ill guarantee LA would shoot it down.

*************************** -A little reminder to all of you at celticsgreen.proboards18.comMany of you may not know this, but beloved CG poster freshnthehouse is a Minnesota Vikings fan. And one of the things that sends freshnthehouse, along with other Vikings fans, into an uncontrollable feral rage is to mention Hershel Walker, the Hershel Walker trade, or any of component of the Hershal Walker trade, be it additional players or draft picks. We have been working with freshnthehouse for over a decade and he has made marked improvments, but these improvements could be lost if further mentioning of Hershel Walker continues. Thanks for your help' Prairie View Physchiatric Hospital ********************************************

Now that the Red Sox have won a title, Id say the Vikings are now the team most due for a title. How close can a team get and still manage to crap it down your leg?
Im still kinda excited to see what the offense will be like without Moss. Its gonna be different, thats for sure. It was also nice to have an off-season were we actually signed players instead of letting them leave. Actually bringing in talented guys to play on your team. What a concept!

My whole point with the contracts is that Pierce is also maxed out and livingston certainly isn't(and neither is Al, obviously)...anyway, as much as I like potential, a proven big man is hard to find these days...and we would be getting someone with at least as much potential back in Livingston...
As for who is most due, Vikings might be up there, but the Cubs have been in another category for a good 100 years...even moreso than the sox.

IMO, the Cubs are different. THey always suck, so much so that its become part of their history. The Vikings have crapped more chances down their leg in the last 35 year than the Cubs have in the last 100.

For some reason, Gary Anderson comes to mind w/ the Vikings. Perhaps it was was the year Atlanta made the superbowl?

Yeah, good ol Gary Anderson. Unlike a lot of ignorant Vikings fans, I dont blame that game on gary anderson. Sure, it wouldve been great if he had made it, but field goals get missed. He was perfect all year, he was bound to miss one. We had that game won, but we started playing like garbage that entire fourth quarter. We got the ball back after ATL tied it, but Denny Green decided it would be best to basically sit on the ball for the last two minutes, even though he had the most explosive offense in NFL history on his side. Once overtime started, the team decided to see what playing like a bad team was like, and promptly lost the game. IMO, Vikings fans use Gary Anderson as a crutch.
