I believe that Ainge IS related to the LEPRECHAUN family ! Just look at the great drafts that he has pulled off. Just look at the long-termed players from Carr/Pitino era that he has dumped. Just look at the TEAM, and VISION that he is building ! Everything is just coming together, imo ! We will (soon) have something to once again be proud of as CELTS fans. Who knows, perhaps we will get some "crucial " calls next year, and even be injury -free ! I like our chances !!!! I DO BELIEVE>>>>>>>>.

Bleedgreen is getting a little too optimistic here. Its good to be that way since Danny got us Green, West, Allen and Jefferson as steals for 2 straight years. Perkins also can be thrown in although he still has potential written on him and hes not the real deal.

It is not a matter of being too opto ! Just look back in time. I remember the year we drafted one Kevin Mchale - he was not the no. 1 pick (Mycal Thompson) of the Bahamas was (from Minnesota). But I knew the opts of that team, that year - my gut feelings was that , that team was going to be special for years to come ! These same ROKS today are the very ones who kept the energy level up on the team, the past season - the VETS stunk ! Sometimes you have to look carefully and see(view) whether the glass is half full or empty .

Tell me more on how Mycal Thompson turned out. I forget. How would it have been if Boston got him? What position did he play? The glass is half full indeed and I like the young players they have. The next thing they need to do is ship Paul Pierce out.

Thompson? Wasn't he the one that played for the Lakers in the 80'ies?

I thought joe Barry Carroll was the #1 in that draft? Time to make an appointment with my old friend basketballreference.com.

The indefatagueable brain of Freshnthehouse remains supreme. Joe Barry Carroll was the #1 pick in the draft. Cuz we trade the #1 and #13 picks, which became Joe Barry Carroll and Ricky Green, for the #2 overall(mchale) and Parrish. Winner: The C's.
Thompson had himself a nice little career had a handful of all-star worthy years in portland i do believe. went to the lakers in the late 80s to help make the Lake Show a little more stacked. Hed be a perennial all-star if he played in the eastern conference these days.

Carroll put up some big scoring #s on some pitiful Warriors team, He and Purvis short lit up the scoreboards in the early 80s.
And I double checked mychal thompson stats, and although he was good, he didnt put up the #s i thought he did.

Well, like history, success goes through cycles. We had our heyday and then we had our slump. Just like the Bulls, just like the Lakers, the Pistons, etc. I believe this is our opportunity to be on the upswing. Lord knows the Celtics have been an awful team for too long now. The drafting of Walker and Pierce was supposed to be our revival, but the stars weren't aligned right for that pair. Our time was set back a couple more years. Now our window appears to be opening up again, and this time, the stars look to be aligned better. The first step was Ainge coming back to Boston. This is his era of Celtics basketball. Without him, we'd still be in the Chris Wallace/Jim O'brien era where Pierce and Walker run the show, doing whatever they want.
But Ainge himself is not enough. Hiring Doc Rivers was another move in the right direction. Getting a disciplinarian who has the emotion and energy to fire up his players was key.
And of course, getting the right players is the next crux. And boy, have we been lucky in getting the right players. We have potential star players and excellent potential role players. I can see everyone of our draft picks being contributors on the team once they develop (though its unlikely we'll be holding onto all 9 of them).
Yes, Ainge may very well be a Leprechaun. He's a mix of a leprechaun and that Wilson guy from the Beach Boys.

Man, I hope he doesnt have much Brian Wilson in him. The next thing you'll know he'll be sitting naked on a picture of Red Auerbach and listening into a crab shell for devine draft inspiration.
I also think were going in the right direction, but I dont see us being a very good team the next couple of years. I wouldnt be suprised if we floated around 35 wins for the next 2 years. I gots a feeling Pierce isnt going to be a happy camper, and if he is traded, Im thinking DA will be looking for a high lotto pick instead of another superstar player. Consider this my prediction that PP is gonna be either an unhappy Celtic or off the team within 6 months.
So there you go.

We are definitely heading in the right direction. Danny is drafting, while Doc is developing. ;D
