Here's how our current roster looks
1) Delonte 2) Banks 3) Orien 4) Allen 5) Ricky 6) Pierce 7) Green 8) Reed 9) Gomes 10) Raef 11) Jefferso 12) Blount 13) Perkins
Walker and Payton are not included in this list (Payton is most likely gone and I feel that Walker's chances of coming back are less than 50/50).
Ainge is interested in bringing in a vet PG and big man. Without sending anyone to the NBDL, we'd have 15 guys on the roster.

I doubt that that Orein dude will ever see the court. No place on the roster for him.

I'm waiting to see what Ainge and Rivers decide on with Orien. He seemed to have impressed Ainge in the private workout.

If I'm not mistaken - we are required by the CBA to have a minimum of 14 so we are actually one short.
I subscribe to the school of thought that the Celtics will S & T Walker somewhere.
They are in the market for a Center to replace Blonut and a Veteran PG (doubt that Banks and Delonte West are prepared for full time PG duty).

DA is going to get a good look at the other Green because he has been looking for a big PG.

Yep, need to update this since we just acquired Scalabrine:
1) Delonte (PG/SG) 2) Banks (PG) 3) Orien (PG) 4) Allen (SG) 5) Ricky (SG/SF) 6) Pierce (SG/SF) 7) Green (SG/SF) 8) Reed (SF/PF) 9) Gomes (SF/PF) 10) Scalabrine (PF) 11) Jefferson (PF) 13) Raef (PF/C) 12) Blonut (C) 14) Perkins (C)
And there's the possibility of a vet PG coming in also, which would give us 15 players under contract. Maybe Will Bynum and Taylor Coppenwrath can secure roster spots too, and be sent down to the NBDL.
--------------------------------------------------------
I like our versatility. We have quite a few players who can play multiple positions. Many SG/SF's and SF/PF's.

This roster is fine now. Until next year with more picks, this will do without having to bring more guys in. Unless Walker and Blonut can both go for A. Davis.

I'd dig that trade. Let the old timer teach the kids a thing or two and then see what we can get for him at the trading deadline. That contract may have some value.

Since we could very well lose Antoine, its very important to get a vet big man who can take Jefferson and Perkins under his wing. If not, we don't have anyone who can help usher Al and Perk into the right direction. Raef and Blount aren't the type to show them the way. And Scalabrine is not good enough to teach them much they don't already know.
Hearing how they had to be stopped by Rivers in practice because of how they weren't stopping Bynum from scoring inside and Coppenwrath from grabbing offensive rebounds, I think that they need a veteran mentor who will make sure that they are working their tails off in practice and get them to play hard in every situation.

Lets say AW leaves and we don't sign anyone else. Who do you think our starting bigs this season? My guess is Raef would be athe 4 with Blount at the 5 and at some time late in the year Al could move to the 4 and Raef to the 5.

In your scenario, Fresh, I'd go with Raef at the 5 and Jefferson at the 4. Jefferson is not ready to play big minutes, so Scalabrine will be getting a lot of minutes initially.
I find it important to get a vet to start in front of Jefferson and let him be a 20 - 25 minute per game guy this year--at least for the beginning of the season. Rather than forcing Jefferson to play big minutes when he's not ready for the role, we need a big man to let Jefferson develop at a more profitable pace. Too soon and Jefferson develops bad habits.

If Jefferson were not to start again, this would remind me of what Detroit is doing with Darko with near star veterans who both get 40mpg. Only Al J is playing more because Boston is not a championship team like Detroit is. Its the sure safer route though to get a mentor who won't be around for very long like an Antonio Davis or a PJ Brown. I can't see Jefferson starting full time next season. The kid fouled out in 13 minutes last year lol. Down the line, he can be really good but not if hes rushed into things. BUT, maybe it could work. BUt heres what I see if Davis or PJ were to come in:
C,Raef/Jefferson/Perkins/Blount F,Davis or PJ Brown/Jefferson/Scalabrine F,Gomes/Ricky/Reed/Green G,Pierce/Ricky/Allen/Green G,West/Banks/Greene
