Thanks CF00...
The most important thing Danny said -
"Danny Ainge: I want to thank you all for signing on and for your interest in the Celtics and be patient. "
Being patient can be hard to do when you see all of the young talent on our team. I guess the key word here is 'young'.

I sent in 3 questions to Ainge, and he didn't respond to any of them.

me too i send one but no respond btw someone over the cletiscblog was saying the celtics sign saras! Israeli Newspaper says: Samo Udrich (Spur's Beno Udrich's brother) who plays in Israel told Beno that Saras has closed a three year contract in Boston for a reported sum of $4.5M (per year total ) Another report says Larry Bird wants Saras but does not have the funds to pay him, which could lead to the conclusion that he is getting $4.5 Mil/year from Boston.

Hope you're right eddie but I'll have to hear it come from DA before I get too wound-up.

4.5 million is roughly the entire MLE. I guess we're not going to go after a vet big man. Either Raef and Blount are staying put (and not dropped with the new CBA allowance of dropping one contract) or we are going to acquire a vet big man through a trade.
Hope this is right about Jasikevicius. This will make an awesome summer and even better one.

So this means Danny can waive Blount under the new cba or not? Or 1 contract? I hear many teams are waiving their guys i.e Theo Ratliff, Michael Finley, Allan Houston and more.

Yes, its a one time deal a team can execute to rid themselves of a player who has a bad contract. Lot of teams have players on the roster they wish they could unload. If Baker was still on our team, he'd be the first to go. Raef has the worst contract on the team, but Blount is the least contributing.
Its still up in the air if Ainge is going to use his "get out of jail" card.

From what I've heard, waiving these guys doesn't even go against the cap. All it does is help the team not have to pay the luxery tax. The team will still need to pay the player. Has anybody else heard this?

FreshN- That's the way I understand it to be.
Mev is the guy with all the CBA knowledge. I think he helped in the writing. ;D

I'd rather waive Raef instead of Blonuts myself. Raef just has too big a contract even if he is better than Blonuts.
