Now that the pieces are falling into place, there are only 2 superstars left who we can hope to lure here.
Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. I'm not saying we lure both of them here--just that these are the last 2 superstar level players left without a permanent home.
CP3 has sort of fallen out of the superstar level in lots of folk's eyes, but I really believe that has to do with the fact that he has a weaker team than he has had in the past. I still think he's an extraordinary PG, capable of being the Finals MVP if given the chance.
Of course Dwight Howard is Superman. The guy is a 20+ point, 12+ reb, and 3 blocks guy who can put up even bigger scoring numbers if he had a really good PG to set him up (sorry Jameer).
Since we already have Rajon, I think its logical that we go after Dwight. But the problem is, both Rajon and Dwight are horrible FT shooters, and at the end of the game, if they are both on the floor, that won't be good for us.

OK, thinking about this more. Say we have the opportunity to land Dwight Howard (might happen, since Doc is an old friend and coach, and is a smooth talker).
Are we better with a tandem of Dwight and Rajon, or Dwight and Chris Paul?

Dwight and Rondo is better for us because Rondo is on a bargain contract while CP3 would cost us the max. With Dwight and Rondo we could surround them with better players than we would be able to with Dwight and CP3. Either way though...I'm not too sure Dwight is the way to go. Not when you're already settled at the 5 spot. I'd rather pursue a power forward and small forward.

Rajon and Howard at the end of close games will be awful, though. Free throw shooting is critical, especially from star players.
JrZMT, I don't see any superstar PF out there to go after. Like I said, after Carmelo's relocation, only 2 superstars remain for the 2012 free agency--CP3 and Dwight Howard.
