I'm heavily leaning towards Horry.

Barkley anyday. Doesn't matter if you have no rings, hes a better player who'd make ten times more than Horry. Same with Nowtizki, Nash etc etc..they may never get a ring but I'll take a 100million more dollars over one ring. Although that said, Horry does have 7 but he was just really lucky with teams he chose.

Explain your reasoning for this post, Eja. I mean, on the surface, this is a no brainer completely on the side of Barkely. But there's a reason why you are doing this, so I'm curious to know.

I guess it all depends. For legacy's sake, I'd take Barkley. Even though he has no rings, he'll be remembered long after Horry. Money wise, it's a no-brainer in Barkley's favor. But I guess it comes down to who enjoyed themselves more. That's what would matter to me most. Both of them did have some bad times in their career (Horry in Phoenix, Barkley's end in Philly).

The reason I was thinking about this was there was some frustration that Reggie Miller didn't get in the Hall of Fame. My first thought was "no rings". To me no rings means you gotta wait or maybe don't even get in. I mean if you aren't even one of the best of your time how can you be considered the best of all time? I so so so don't care about stats, or all-star games, or MVPs. I just don't.
If you're not first you're last

I will be analytical. Are we talking about NBA careers or "careers" in general? Barkley, the far more dominant player. Horry, actually graduated from college, 7-world championships. Barkley, gambled most of his "winnings" away. Horry, who knows?

But Barkely goes down as one of the greatest to play the game. Robert Horry? Not even close. To me, he's along the lines of John Salley--guys who were riding the coat tail of championship teams.
Barkely's career, despite not having a ring, was exponentially more productive and worthy of remembrance.

Yes, I will always remember Barkley for stepping on the Angola player's chest in the Olympics. A totally classless act by a coward.

I didn't say anything about him as a person. I'm strictly talking about his numbers on the court.

I didn't say anything about him as a person. I'm strictly talking about his numbers on the court. By numbers on the court, R Horry stepped on one less defenseless player's chest than C Barkley.

Dan Marino or Eddie House?

I dont think I'd want to be Charles Barkley. But I'd take Dan MArino's jersey?
i dont need to be a star though. Being a roleplayer would be alright. Horry had fun i bet.
