Sometimes I wonder if the Traveling Wilburies would get in fights like Bob Dylan to Tom Petty "Do you have any idea how stupid you look in that hat?" And then Tom like "Me? Do you know how stupid you sound?"
And then George Harrison be like "Shut up all of you. I was a Beatle! I'm more important than all of you combined. Shut up. I am king and everyone knows it"....while Roy Orbison is making out with some chick totally oblivious to the whole thing and then looks up and is like "She thinks I'm Elvis. Who am I to disappoint her?"

And poor Jeff Lynne is stuck at the security gate because they don't believe he's in the group.
When Roy Orbison starts signing in "Handle With Care" is such a great moment. Dude was so awesome.

Orbison died just before the 'End of the Line'. That's why they had his photo in the rocking chair. They where the solid. Tenors and song writers brought together by George.

I guess this is as good a place to post this as any. The other night I dreamed I met Derren twice. Oddly he was absolutely nothing like I've ever imagined him Ok, this has got to stop, Eja. It was a while ago now so it's hard to remember. In the first one I think maybe you were short and a tad overweight and with a beard. Then I think you might have been Asian. I really don't remember that well

I really don't remember that well Or I might be a mid sized Puerto Rican with wavy hair and a love for ice cream. Actually, you aren't that far off. I am a short Asian (I'm Okinawan) , but I don't have a beard (unless you call a goat tee a beard). Maybe we should post our pictures on the Lounge. |
