When the All-Star starters were announced, I wasn't surprised at all. Nash, Kobe, Duncan, Carmelo, and Amare out in the West, while the East has AI, D-Wade, LeBron, KG, and Dwight.
It's pretty safe to say most of us already knew the starting five even before voting began.
One particular name that stood out to me the most though is Allen Iverson. I question whether he deserves to be an All-Star starter. Maybe bench. But starter, no.
He has never been quite the same ever since he left Denver. Now he wasn't totally bad in Detroit either, but apperantly not good enough for them to keep him...
Iverson in Memphis was just even more horrible. The guy played like what, 3 games? Now that he is back in Philly I guess he's playing pretty alright. But it is still not All-Star material in my opinion.
I mean c'mon people. You just gave a starting position to someone who has been struggling all year long. How about giving it to someone who actually deserves it...? There's a lot of young players who work hard everyday and still don't get that position because AI, well, is simply AI, so people feel like jst because it's Allen Iverson he should get the vote.
I honestly think our very own Rajon Rondo deserved that starting position more than Iverson did. The kid has been amazing and is putting on a show. His numbers are constantly improving and he's stepping up when he needs to. Now THAT is a guy who deserves to start. Not someone who nearly quit the game of basketball after playing just three games with Memphis.
I just feel like there are a lot of players who should be starting and they don't get to because of the fans getting the whole vote.
This is what Ray Ray had to say about the All-Star voting.

"I like that fans get to vote for the starters but I think fans should get 50 percent of the vote and the sports writers and players should Split the other 50 percent. "
"Every year there are guys that deserve to make the team but don't. Big ups to everyone who does make it. There are so many players that Deserve it. There are some players that got snubbed their whole careers."
Right there with you man!
