Isn't the ad campaign that they're showing on tv pronouncing that steroids destroys the body? That's aimed at kids. Steroids can be very harmful to kids that haven't finished developing yet. Can goof with your bones, stunt your sexual development, etc. But for adults, the problems are mostly longterm (cardiovascular damage, liver damage, etc.). The short term stuff is weird (acne, emotional problems, man boobs) but rarely career/life threatening. Remember, steroids are used medicinally to help people fight things like cancer. They have a medicinal purpose. Athletes have figured out a way to exlpoit this purpose to their own benefit.

I'm definitely not saying Bonds didn't take steroids. I'd have to avoid the head bigger than a watermellon to think that.
But yes I am saying largely steroids don't harm the body unless you go all East German Women's Swim team on it.
