I just realized I own a framed poster from the Student Book Store that says "JoePa's 300th win. I was there"
And that win has now been vacated along with 110 others such that JoePa is at 298 wins.

Yeah I did and my brother. Until recently there was a Paterno poster in my kid's room and my diploma downstairs has the signature of a disgraced president

I came from a rural area that wanted the big college experience. I didn't like city schools really like when I went to BC's football camp. I wanted to see my school compete for national championships on tv. (Back then it was far more feasible. They were just a year or two removed from that undefeated year of Kerry Collins and Ki Jana Carter). It had a good business school with good academics that I qualified. Because it was a state school it was comparably cheaper. I was accepted to Syracuse but it was a lot more expensive and not as good. I was offered wait list at Bates and shaky wait list at U Mich. Part of me wishes I had tried for Mich
