I'd have to say Doc has surprised me. I thought the team would be very good. Top 2 or three team in the east. I thought the bench was better than people thought. I thought the Big 3 would be fairly happy and win like 53 games or so. I did NOT expect this. Once again young guys under Doc developed big time when they could have been overwhelmed. His substitution patterns almost made sense most of the time. He got the team to develop somewhat of a killer instinct. I still don't think he's a phenomenal coach but clearly he's capable. Here's sort of the defining question. Could other coaches...say a Scott Skiles or Byron Scott or Lawrence Frank ...have gotten this out of this team. I'd say mostly yes, but it's close.

I'll answer this question after the playoffs. In the playoffs, coaching becomes much more important than in the regular season and coaches have to make adjustments from game to game and coaching becomes more important. Doc has never yet won a playoff series. When I see how he does in the playoffs, then I will decide how good he is.

All I know is that it wasn't as easy as i thought to get the Big Three on the same page and i don't know if many coaches could..Doc is an extremely great guy and people person and when i saw that article on Ray's compulsive disorder(great article) i realized how different Pierce, Ray, and Garnett were and how hard it must be to keep them in such great terms...It's not as easy as it seems..Even the experts predicted tough chemistry spots for us but we never had them...

that job was done by Garnett, Rivers is not a bad coach, but he is not a nothing special too. I will get 60 wins with these three guys too, he's just a lucky man to have them on his roster

Doc is in the top half of coaches in the league. Unfortunately, the West has some phenomenal coaches, like Pop, D'Antonio(spelling?), Scott, etc.
