Today in an ESPN chat, Rich Bucher I believe it was, said that the Celtics are supposedly in love with Adam Morrison, and that they could even move Pierce to acquire him.
First of all, if the Celtics ever even THOUGHT about that trade, I would probably stop watching the games.
Second of all, this is complete BS. I do not question that the Celts like Morrison as a player, just I highly, highly doubt that they would be willing to part ways with a perennial All-Star and cornerstone of the franchise for a draft pick who may not even go top 3.
I also question the fact why they would be interested in him, when we have Pierce AND Wally who are very similar players. I have no doubts that Morrison will be a good pro, I just feel that adding him will do absolutely nothing to improve our team. We do not need him. Plain and simple.
ESPN has a thing for the Celts and wanting to trade Pierce. It is getting quite old now, really.

That's bull. Danny would never move Pierce just to get an unproven Morrison. Your absolutely right esco, ESPN just loves to cook up Pierce trade rumors.

I guarantee you the Buchers of the world who hang out with the Vesceys of lala land have just plain made stuff up before. If you can't actually do investigative work just make something up.

If nothing else, E33, this rumor makes for a good laugh.

In his interview on WEEI, Danny was asked to compare Morrison and Reddick. He said that they are different types of players but that both would be complementary type players in the NBA and neither one would be a star or a perennial all star. He sounded alot more excited about Allen Ray from Villanova saying that was the type of player we are looking for. But then Danny often speaks with forked tongue so you can't go by what he says. He swore up and down that we weren't going to do a trade about 2 hours before the Minny Trade. So, the disinterest in Morrison may be a smoke screen.

I hope Danny is not that in love with Morrison really. I like the kid as a player. He has a lot of heart, and determination, and has overcome a lot. (diabetes)
Having said that, how much more will he improve the team? We have Wally, who is a much better defender, and plays just as smart.
I really don't think that we need him. I would rather we go after another athletic big guy, or a point guard, or even a backup 2 guard. Small forward is actually our most packed position (Pierce and Wally).

You can never believe a darn thing Danny says about his player movements. I don't believe for one second if Danny had the 3rd pick he'd pick Ray over Morrison

I don't think Danny meant that he would pick Ray over Morrison. I think what he was trying to say was that he didn't think that Morrison was going to be a superstar. And in a seperate question he stated that players that he would like in the draft are players such as Ray (because he is one guy that would be available to us wherever we pick.) He will probably go late first round, early second.
Still, you can't believe everything Danny says when it comes to the draft. That is why he drafts so well.

Ray is a 6 ft 2 guard. I'm not sure that's the best idea
