If the draft were today, some of the players that would be available to us would possibly be:
Ronnie Brewer - his stock has slipped a bit but still seems like an intriguing prospect especially because of his ability to run a team from the point guard spot. He reminds me of a poor man's Joe Johnson, and I was a big fan of his for his very short stint here. (See my previous thread regarding him)
Shelden is still hovering around where we would pick.
Randy Foye and Mardy Collins are two other guards, but they are not true point guards and do not really fit into what the Celts would want to do I believe.
Rondo is still slipping down the early mock drafts, although I predict that he will be taken in the top 6-10 picks because right now he is the number one point guard available on most draft boards. Teams always need point guards.
Rodney Carney is a new name that if he slips to us Danny may snatch him up. He has been compared to Richard Jefferson because of his high-flying athletic ability. We have enough 2's and 3's but if Danny keeps the pick, he would be valuable off the bench.
Other bigs who could be available but it is too soon now to see exactly how high or low they might go. (March Madness is always a big indicator of how "big-time" these college players are)
Other possible selections: Tiago Splitter, Josh Boone, Hilton Armstrong, Paul Davis, Pittsnoggle.

Yeah BC. Boone has quieted down a lot from last year. He's actually regressed a bit - decreased minutes, points, rebounds, FG%, FT%.
But I think come March Madness, he will definitely get a lot of exposure and be able to really show what he can and cannot do against other good teams.
He has only averaged 10 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this year, although recently he has shown to be a lot more active, him and Hilton Armstrong.
Since 1/18/06, Boone is averaging 13.5 points/game and 7.2 rebounds.
I think this guy will be picked in the latter of the first round, and prove to be a solid backup power forward.
btw, BC welcome back.

I am not sure Boone declares this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Gay doesn't declare either. The only 'soph' to declare from UCONN was Butler, and he literally carried UCONN that year. Boone is a solid player, but too passive. He needs that killer instinct to be the main man.

How about Adam Morrison...Is he a guy you would look at hard on draft day?

I agree about Boone possibly staying for another year, but Gay is definitely declaring (obviously he can stay), but he is not expected to go lower than 3, and many have him as the overall number one pick above Morrison. The NCAA tournament will determine if many of these guys declare or not depending on how they show. I expect Marcus Williams to soar up the draft board and possibly even declare this year. He is on UCONN so you know he will probably be seen at least for 4 or 5 games. He just recorded a triple double last night
C17, Morrison is a nice pickup, a good leader to build your team around IF you have a top 3 pick and are starting a team from scratch. We are not doing that, HOPEFULLY. I would NEVER trade Pierce for him. Not to say he isn't a good player, but I just wouldn’t trade Pierce for him. Actually there is nobody in this draft that I would trade Pierce for.
I think Morrison will be a great pro though. A smaller Dirk Nowitski (shooting), not as pure a shooter though, minus the blocks and rebounds, but a better passer.
