you would think that travis best would be getting tired of all these one year deals leading to frustrating free agency negotiations. but yet, he signed another one year deal with the mavericks for close to the same amount we offered him. sure the mavericks are a better team, but he would have been closer to home with us.
he's not a real good fit for dallas. they are an untempo team and best is not really a tempo pusher. he's more of a polished jr bremer with better handles. his assests lie in shooting the ball and keeping the game under control.
i'm glad his mother stepped in and made him realize that money isn't everything. too bad she didn't intervene sooner when we were negotiating with him. we need a veteran presence at the pg spot who we can count on to back up banks. mike james is a question mark, though i feel he can be a decent pickup, but best might have been better because of his nba experience.
